Hi students,
you can choose to work with a partner on 4 things today. if you finish early you can try another one.
1) report on an article. read the article and do the exercises. Report to the class on background to the article, summary, vocabulary, comprehension questions, and discussion questions.
2) idioms. learn some new idioms. Report to the class, their meaning, history, and examples in some sentences. It might be interesting to compare these idioms with ones from our other languages.
3) learn about Rube Golderg. Who was he? Do most Americans know him? Explain one of his machines to the class without reading it. Have the class draw a picture of it. Then show the picture.
4) look into advertising. do the easy exercises. Pick out one or two burma shave ads and explain them to the classs. Write your own ad.
